Our Story

A Decade of Academic Commitment

Raghunath Jha Degree College is a premier undergraduate institution in Sitamarhi, committed to quality higher education. Established in 2014, the college has grown steadily to serve over 3,000 students from Sitamarhi and the surrounding region of North Bihar.

The institution offers undergraduate programs across Arts, Science, and Commerce streams, affiliated to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU). Since its inception, the college has maintained a strong focus on academic rigour, student welfare and community engagement.

With 21 qualified faculty members, modern infrastructure, and active student cells for NSS, cultural activities, and sports, Raghunath Jha Degree College continues to be a centre of opportunity and growth for the youth of Sitamarhi.

It is my privilege to welcome you to Raghunath Jha Degree College, Sitamarhi. Since our establishment in 2014, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing quality higher education that is accessible, affordable, and value-based.

At Raghunath Jha Degree College, education goes beyond the classroom. We believe in nurturing not just academic skills, but also character, discipline, and social responsibility. Our dedicated faculty works tirelessly to ensure that each student receives the guidance and support needed to succeed in their academic and professional pursuits.

The college has grown steadily, and today we are proud to serve over 3,000 students across our undergraduate programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce. We have forged meaningful partnerships through MoUs, established active student cells, and continuously strive to improve our academic and extracurricular offerings.

Committees & Cells

The IQAC is the central body responsible for developing and implementing quality benchmarks for the institution. It monitors academic processes, promotes best practices, and ensures continuous institutional improvement through regular audits and documentation. The cell holds regular meetings and maintains records of quality initiatives. Learn more →

The Anti-Ragging Committee ensures a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all students. It operates in accordance with UGC regulations and takes immediate action on any complaint of ragging or harassment. All students are required to submit anti-ragging declarations at the time of admission. Awareness programs are conducted regularly.

The Examination Committee oversees all aspects of internal and external examinations — scheduling, question paper management, evaluation processes, and result declaration. It ensures transparency, fairness, and compliance with university guidelines. Continuous internal assessment forms a key part of the evaluation framework.

The Grievance Redressal Cell provides a formal mechanism for students, faculty and staff to raise concerns about academic, administrative, or interpersonal matters. All grievances are addressed in a timely and confidential manner. The cell meets periodically to review pending cases and ensure resolution within stipulated timeframes.

The Women's Cell is dedicated to creating a safe and empowering environment for female students and staff. It conducts awareness programs, sensitization workshops, and provides a platform for women to raise concerns. The cell works in coordination with the anti-ragging and grievance committees to ensure a gender-sensitive campus.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit actively engages students in community service, environmental activities, and social awareness campaigns. Regular programs and special camps are organised to foster the spirit of social responsibility and civic engagement among students.
